It is just about take-off.
We are going to Japan!
This week we will be opening a Stilleben Pop Up Shop in the beautiful warehouse of Actus placed right in the middle of the vibrant city of Tokyo.
We will be showing all our Stilleben products, but most exciting of all – we will be releasing the very first limited edition print within the Stilleben Print Collection.
The artwork is made by Japanese artist Yu Nagaba, who is known for his characteristic simple, black lines, which perfectly catch the substance of his motif – nothing more, nothing less.
The name of the print is Tokyo Still Life, and it is Nagaba’s interpretation of a Stilleben – the European art tradition of depicting inanimate objects. A concept which also inspired us when naming our first store years ago. It is a letterpress print made in a limited edition of 200 copies – we have only 50 copies for sale in Denmark, though, so be quick! Every print is marked with a red stamp carrying edition number, year and place of release.
We think the simplicity and the understated, delicate humoristic touch are the essential points of Nagaba’s style. Follow his Instagram account to see his former works. Tokyo Still Life shares Nagaba’s characteristic lines, and at the same time it is very different from his other drawings. We think it carries a beautiful humoristic connotation and a traditional yet modern Japanese feeling.
To accompany this new special print, we made a glossy red frame in collaboration with Moebe. We call it Tokyo Limited Edition. Find the frames in sizes A4 and A3, and be quick – as we have only produced 200 pieces of each.
We are looking very much forward to visiting Japan and launching this project. It will happen Thursday 30th of August, and after this you will be able to buy both print and frames in our Copenhagen stores as well as on our website. We are super excited to be able to add a new direction to the Stilleben Print Collection.
