Textile No. 4 - Zigzag Tea Towel by Danish Karin Carlander is inspired by Japanese all-over stitching on multiple layers of cotton cloth. The tea towel is made from organic linen and is woven with white selvedges that add an artistic edge to the color expression of the textile.
The tea towel can also be used as a table cloth for two, as a salad sling or even to wrap your new-baked bread.
As a young girl Karin Carlander went to Japan to study and that was the beginning of her life-long love and respect for Japanese design and craftsmanship.

When studying textile design at The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in her early twenties Karin Carlander went to Japan on a three-month study program. This trip planted a seed for her life-long love and respect for Japanese design and craftsmanship. After working decades as a textile designer for several established companies Karin launched her own textile brand Textile No. in 2013. Each product is hand-woven and inspired by Japanese and Nordic design traditions - and based on sustainability, multifuncionality and a mix-and-match colour palette.
