'For the sake of keeping' - Robynn Storgaard ceramics
Copenhagen based ceramicist Robynn Storgaard celebrates slow living and conscious consumption in her work.
Rooted in the concept and philosophy ‘For the Sake of Keeping’ Robynn's pieces and work evokes simple, well made objects that can last generations.
Understated details and long-lasting aesthetics
Her works are characterized by understated details and quiet beauty, emphasizing a considered lifestyle in order to go beyond current, interchangeable trends and rather aiming for a long-lasting aesthetic.
"My work is about making objects with utility and spirit that, through time and use, become more beautiful, valuable and meaningful to the user", Robynn explains.
When objects become keepsakes
Stoneware can potentially last thousands of years and ceramics is a centuries old craftsmanship with items made for the sake of keeping - and for passing on to future generations.
By surrounding ourselves with meaningful objects and engaging with them consciously, it can bring joy to the simple tasks in life. That is when a bowl or a cup transcends pure function and becomes meaningful to the user. Robynn aims for her objects to become keepsakes - things of value that will be part of our daily living for a lifetime.
Handcrafted details in production scale
Robynn has just launched her first collection produced in a small, family owned ceramics factory. All items are handmade and her favorite details from her studio works has been incorporated into the design, making her keepsakes more accessible to a larger audience while still maintaining the link to the one-of-a-kind pieces she makes in her studio.
Stilleben is one of a very few selected retailers of this collection and for a limited time, you can find Robynn's new collection alongside a handful of her one-of-a-kind studio works in our flagship store.
