Establisted in 2002
Stilleben was founded in 2002 by Ditte Reckweg and Jelena Schou Nordentoft. Both are educated product designers from The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, specializing in glass and ceramics.
Their shared passion for good craftsmanship and peculiar objects has been part of Stilleben since the very beginning.
Ever since the opening of the first shop in 2002 in an old Copenhagen town house, the flagship store has offered a carefully curated mix of handmade ceramics and glassware, one of a kind-products, textiles, furniture and prints – all handpicked by the two founders.
The name Stilleben is a German art concept referring to a work of art depicting mostly inanimate objects - often in table settings.
