Louise Gaarmann x Stilleben

We are proud to present a unique collection of plates and platters by ceramicist Louise Gaarmann in our store in Copenhagen.

Beyond their strong tactility, these works also hold a sense of warmth, if you ask us.

Through a combination of stoneware, a distinctive glaze, symbols, and small inscriptions, her pieces bring a smile: a grand "YES" platter, "Nothing Compares to You," or "Forever and Ever" – all available in our store through December.

Louise creates her ceramics in her studio in Mols Bjerge, Djursland. Here, she crafts both large and small pieces, for herself and in collaboration with other brands, including The Table Project, which you’ll also find in our store.

For Louise, clay is more than just a material; it is a creative partner. She is shaped by the clay and all its characteristics through each stage of the ceramic-making process.

Her works emerge as a dialogue between hand and material, where the natural qualities of the clay – cool, smooth, and at times stubborn – shape her expression, making each piece unique.

This special connection gives her work a tangible sensuality that can be felt in every detail.

Louise Gaarmann’s work is deeply inspired by her surroundings in the Danish national park, Mols Bjerge, known for its extraordinary natural beauty and coastal landscapes. From the landscape outside her studio window, she draws both an understanding of materials and an aesthetic connection to nature.

Her works – from sculptural objects to functional pieces like platters and plates – feel like an extension of the landscape and invite use and love in everyday life, carried by the raw and poetic nature that surrounds her art.

Experience Louise Gaarmann at Stilleben, Frederiksborggade 22, Copenhagen, through December 2024. Prices for her pieces range from 1,050 DKK to 3,200 DKK.
