Our production

We aim for transparency in both production and shipping, and are constantly working towards more sustainable practices. It is a continuous effort with the highest possible degree of quality and sustainability as a benchmark.

Our approach to production

The majority of Stilleben’s production lies within Europe. Our production partners not only excel at their craft but also share our goals on becoming increasingly sustainable as well as being both socially and ethically responsible.

All of our production uses high-quality and locally sourced raw materials and our partners employ skilled, local workers.

Memphis tableware production

Memphis Stoneware is a collection of stackable, functional tableware. This special glaze, developed in collaboration with our partners, creates a highly durable and scratch-resistant stoneware surface.

The series is produced in close collaboration with our partners at a ceramics factory near Portugal's west coast, south of Porto. Portugal has a long-standing tradition of stoneware production, and all raw materials are locally sourced from natural resources.

The factory employs a unique single-fire technology, simultaneously firing both the stoneware and glaze. This energy-efficient process not only results in exceptionally strong and durable stoneware with a distinctive glaze but also significantly reduces the carbon footprint of pottery production.

Concave glassware production

The Concave Glassware Collection is made for everyday use. The slightly concave shape characterizes this collection of drinking glasses, wine glasses, carafes, and vases in two sizes. All items are available in various optics, perfect for mixing and matching.

The unique qualities of crystalline glass allow for a clear, thin, and delicate finish without compromising durability and strength.

Carafes, vases, wine glasses, and drinking glasses are crafted by skilled local artisans in a family-operated glass factory in the Czech Republic. Established in 1712, the factory remains one of the few European producers dedicated exclusively to mouth-blown and handmade techniques.

Home textile linen production

Linen is a strong, natural fiber known for its low carbon footprint in both cultivation and production.

Derived from the flax plant, linen is biodegradable, reusable, and uniquely absorbent due to its hollow fibers. These exceptional properties make linen ideal for kitchen textiles and bedding. Like silk and wool, linen naturally regulates heat and moisture and has inherent anti-bacterial qualities.

Stilleben's pure linen textiles embrace the tactile and elegantly creased look inherent to the material.

Our skilled linen producer is Fairtrade-certified and based in northern Portugal. The company has been operating since 1996 and specialises in home textiles.

The factory uses only materials free from harmful chemicals, and all products are OEKO-TEX certified. Since its founding, the factory has had a strong focus on supporting the local community in the northern region – with an emphasis on education, fair wages, and inclusion.

Additionally, we source OEKO-TEX certified linen textiles from Portugal, with all fabrics procured within the EU.

Alma Cutlery production

Above all, Alma Cutlery is designed with functionality in mind. As cutlery is fundamentally a tool, harmonious form and a balanced distribution of weight and shape are essential.

Made from 100% stainless steel, Alma Cutlery is easy to maintain and available in two finishes: a practical matte polish and a sparkling polished finish. The collection is produced in Shandong Province, China.
