Print - 50 x 70 cm⼁Kærlighed og Kirsebær II
The sakura tree and cherries by Poul Gernes were originally created as a site specific installation at Vesthimmerlands Gymnasium. Both teachers and students took part in the creation of the ceramic friese of cherries running along the walls of the communal hall.
Gernes’ works are colourful, easily understandable and unpretentious.
As part of Gernes’ humanistic mission, his works communicate directly with the viewer with no need of explanation. They are decorative without being mundane and the colours all work together both within the piece itself and with its surroundings.
This print is the result of a unique collaboration between the Gernes Foundation and Stilleben to continue Poul Gernes' work of making art accessible to everyone.
